Portal Training Guides

Step-by-step video walkthroughs and written instructions to help you get the most out of your Nova Coverage client portal.

Setting Up Your Portal Access

Get your client portal account activated and ready to go

1

Request Portal Access

If you're a new Nova Coverage client, head to our Client Portal page and fill out the access request form. Our team will set up your account within one business day.

2

Check Your Email

Once your account is created, you'll receive an email with your login credentials and a link to the portal. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within 24 hours.

3

Log In for the First Time

Click the link in your email or go to the Client Portal and click "Log In Now." Enter the credentials provided in your email.

4

Update Your Password

For security, we recommend changing your password after your first login. Navigate to your account settings to set a new password you'll remember.

5

Explore Your Dashboard

You're in! From your dashboard you can view your policies, download COIs, access ID cards, and more. Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the layout.

How to Send a Certificate of Insurance

Generate and send a COI directly from your portal

1

Click "Send Certificate"

After logging in, locate the "Send Certificate" button in the top right corner of the page. Click it to open the COI page.

2

Configure Your Settings

On the right side, check that the correct COI Template is selected. If you need your equipment schedule on the COI, select "Check All" under Include Vehicles. You can also include drivers if needed.

3

Enter Certificate Holder Info

On the left side, start typing the Certificate Holder name. Enter their email address where the COI should be sent. To send to multiple people, separate emails with a comma.

4

Customize Your Email (Optional)

In the Additional section, you can edit the email subject line and add a custom body message — great for adding specific notes for brokers or shippers.

5

Preview & Send

Click "Preview" to double-check everything, then hit "Send Certificate." You can also click "Download" in the Information section to save a copy for your records.

Pro Tip: Always use the Preview button before sending to verify the certificate holder name, address, and that the right policies are showing. It takes 2 seconds and saves you from having to re-send.

How to Download Your ID Cards

Pull up and save your insurance ID cards in seconds

1

Log In to Your Portal

Head to the Client Portal and sign in with your credentials.

2

Navigate to Documents

From your dashboard, click on the "Documents" tab at the top of the page. This is where all your policy documents, ID cards, and declarations pages are stored.

3

Locate Your ID Cards

Find the ID Cards section within your documents. Your cards will be listed by policy type (auto, trucking, etc.).

4

Download or Print

Click the "Download" button next to the ID card you need. It will save as a PDF that you can print, email, or keep on your phone for easy access.

Quick Access: Save the PDF to your phone so you always have your proof of insurance handy — no need to dig through the glove box.
